In Újezd nad Lesy, two differently designed forest trails run through the surrounding landscape: Lesní galerie I, also known as “There and Back for the Animals,” is a 5 km educational trail through the Blatov forest area, with 30 stations about animals. It also includes sports elements in a forest clearing near Blatov.
Hiking and Cycling
Lesní galerie II is a 15 km route through Cyrilov in the cadastral area of Újezd nad Lesy, divided into three circular routes. It includes 60 stations and five rest areas.
A cycle path along the Běchovický stream reaches the beginning of Újezd nad Lesy, turns into Dubinská Street, and runs along the shore of a pond.
Culture and History
The historical puzzle walk “A Walk with a Puzzle about the History of Újezd nad Lesy” is 4 km long, follows easy terrain on city streets, and takes approximately 1.5 to 2 hours. It passes through the oldest parts of Újezd nad Lesy and showcases villas, the former bathing area, and the former dance hall.
The Újezdské Muzeum presents the life of three formerly independent communities in a permanent exhibition covering the period from the end of the 19th century to the present day, and also hosts thematic exhibitions.
The medieval village of Hol in Újezd nad Lesy was established in the 14th century and disappeared during the Hussite Wars. Two wells and strips marking the field boundaries have survived to this day around the former village of Hol.
Nature
The northern half of Újezd nad Lesy lies in Klánovice Čihadla Nature Park. The Klánovický les Nature Reserve also extends into the cadastral area of Újezd nad Lesy; because of its size, good accessibility, well-maintained paths, and flat terrain, the forest is a popular recreational area for Prague residents.
Klánovický les – Cyrilov Nature Reserve, covering an area of 397 hectares, lies within Klánovice Čihadla Nature Park.
