Culture and history
Gothic frescoes were uncovered and restored in the Church of the Nativity of the Virgin Mary in Dolní Bukovsko. The existence of the former fortress of Dolní Bukovsko is documented by a deed issued by Emperor Charles IV in 1349. The fortress fell into disrepair in the 15th century.
The remains of the fortress of Dolní Bukovsko were discovered in 1924; today, an island in the middle of the municipal pond and the place name V Hradu commemorate it.
