Holubovska Basta: Hotels and Accommodation

Holubovská Bašta is a preserved traditional South Bohemian folk settlement on the shore of the Dehtář recreational pond. The settlement consists of a group of secluded farmsteads between the Dehtář and Posměšek ponds, combining historic buildings with a waterside location.

Culture

Among the preserved historic buildings is a granary with a gate dating from the 16th century. Holubovská Bašta also has an 18th-century niche chapel; the year 1816 is inscribed on one of the houses. In Čakov stands the Church of St. Linhart, a cultural monument first mentioned as early as 1343. Its main altar features late Gothic carved figures dating from 1520.

Water and Landscape

Swimming in natural surroundings is possible at Dehtář Pond. The “Kolem Dehtáře” trail heads uphill after crossing a stream; from there, it offers a view of the entire Dehtář Pond.

Cycling Routes

The 46-kilometre circular cycling route “Jihočeským venkovem za barokem do Holašovic” passes Holubovská Bašta and runs along the dam of Dehtář Pond. It follows asphalt, gravel, and stone paths. Another connection is provided by the “Do Holašovic za selským barokem z Hluboké” cycling route, which also passes Holubovská Bašta.
