The 12-kilometre Cesta kolem Světa educational trail forms a closed loop around the Svět pond, passes through three municipalities including Libín – the Spolí district, and is intended for walkers. The 16 information boards provide basic information about the ecology of the Třeboňsko region, typical plant and animal species, the history of fish farming and spa operations, and the development of folk architecture. A regional cycle route runs from Spolí through Libín and Vlkovice to Zvíkov along cycle route CT 1096. There are seating areas and refreshments at the local inn on a cycle route running through Libín.

History and Culture

The first written mention of Libín dates from 1366. The chapel by the pond in Libín is designated as an immovable cultural monument. The Chapel of the Sacred Heart of Jesus stands in Libín village square. In the surroundings of Libín, upper and lower farm buildings illustrate the layout of farmsteads in the Třeboňsko region; in this area, the peasant Baroque architecture of Veselské Blato meets the Upper Austrian enclosed Vierkanthof farmstead.
