Výheň: Hotels and accommodations

The Netřebice–Výheň section of the Horse-Drawn Railway is part of the national cultural monument Horse-Drawn Railway.

Culture and history

The priest Josef Jílek was an important native of Výheň. He took part in the anti-fascist resistance, produced forged baptism certificates, and was involved in falsifying residence registrations and deregistrations; in doing so, he saved the lives of numerous people. On 20 April 1945, Josef Jílek was executed by guillotine in Brandenburg prison. In 1995, he was posthumously awarded the state decoration “Za zásluhy,” 1st Class, by the President of the Czech Republic.

Výheň is home to a wayside cross with a monument. At the Výheň ČD railway stop, there is also a stone culvert that recalls an earlier era.

Nature and regional setting

The Malše 3 P trout fishing district begins at the Larsen weir near the former Caisův mlýn in the Výheň cadastral area and runs to the Plachův weir in the Malče cadastral area.

Mount Zaječí lies in the wider regional surroundings of Výheň. Also located in the wider regional surroundings are Borovanský vrch [Borovany-Dvorec u Třebče], Mount Kleť, and Mount Trosky. Rosenhof Castle is likewise located in the wider regional surroundings of Výheň.

Paths and connections

The blue “Path of Resistance” trail connects the memorials to the victims of the Second World War in Omlenice and Výheň. Route 1198 runs through Kaplice, Pořešín, Rozpoutí, Výheň, Dlouhá, Velešín, Římov, and Kamenný Újezd.
