The pilgrimage church of Saint John the Baptist stands on a hill southeast of Radomyšl. The present-day church was built between 1733 and 1736. In the rectory, the medieval granary now houses the Radomyšl History Museum.

Culture and History

Along the path from the château to this pilgrimage church, a Jewish cemetery is located in a small grove in Radomyšl. The cemetery contains 36 gravestones from the first half of the 19th century. The Museum of the History of Radomyšl presents the town’s history from prehistoric times to 1918. It displays a replica of the most significant archaeological find, the so-called vampire grave, which is associated with Radka.

In the immediate vicinity of Radomyšl lies the ruin of the “Radomysl Mediumwave Radio Mast”. The Chlum mountain is also located nearby. In the wider regional surroundings of Radomyšl are Hrad Zvíkov Castle, the historical site “Lety u Písku. Památník holokaustu Romů a Sintů v Čechách” and the Svatý Jan Church.
