Zdíkov: Hotels and Accommodations

Zdíkov combines architectural history, sacred architecture, and a château park. At its center is Zdíkovský zámek Château, which was created by remodeling an older stone Renaissance fortress first mentioned in 1666. At that time, the estate belonged to the Malovcové family. The château complex, including the park, is protected as a historic monument.

Culture and History

The Church of St. Ludmila was built in 1921–1922 in the late Art Nouveau style and is also protected as a historic monument. Its furnishings include an altarpiece depicting Saint Ludmila and Saint Wenceslas, created in 1922 by the painter and restorer Josef Hübsch.

The Chapel of the Nativity of the Virgin Mary at Liz is located in Zdíkov’s château forest park. The present Romantic Revival chapel was built in 1852 by Franz Anton Count Thun-Hohenstein next to a spring described as miraculous. A forest avenue leads from the chapel to the forester’s lodge at Liz.
