Culture and History

Nový Hrádek is open to the public in Podyjí National Park as a national cultural monument. The complex was built shortly after 1358 by the Moravian margrave Jan Jindřich Lucemburský.

The Church of St. Giles in Lukov is protected as a cultural monument. The present parish church was built in 1749 and is a Baroque church. In front of the church stands a pillory dating from 1609 that has been preserved to this day.

Cycling and Wine

Cycle route 5000EV13 runs through Lukov between Podmolí and Čížov. The “Na Nový Hrádek” cycle route is 12.5 km long; 40% of its route runs on a cycle path.

During the season, Vinařství Molík operates a self-service wine bar. Visitors can buy wine there and enjoy it on site.

Event

The traditional Lukovské posvícení will take place from September 4 to 6, 2026, in the village square by the Church of St. Giles. It offers music, entertainment, and a traditional church-fair atmosphere.
