The manor house at Manor Lustivere combines a long history with a distinctive architectural form. Designed by R. von Guleke, the building was inspired by the Gothic Revival. R. von Guleke was an architect and antiquarian from Tartu. An octagonal tower was added to the manor house in 1891, contributing to the building’s external appearance.
A large park and several stylish outbuildings have also been preserved at Manor Lustivere. An important restriction to bear in mind when planning a visit is that the manor house can only be viewed from the outside. The manor should therefore primarily be regarded as an ensemble of the manor house, park and outbuildings visible from the exterior, not as an interior visit.
What natural features characterize the area?
The striking landscape features include karst springs. They can be seen beside the stream near the park of Manor Lustivere and in a meadow. Lustivere also has two karst caves with entrances. Another natural feature is a karst sinkhole. The old lime tree known as Hiiepärn and the park surrounding the hospital complement these natural features.
