Khala: Hotels and Accommodation

The seven-kilometre kayak route on the Chakvistskali ends in Khala. Its difficulty ranges from 3 to 4+; kayaking on the river requires experience. For this route, you should use a local kayaker or obtain local information and contact a tour company in advance. Those wishing to book a hotel in Khala can continue their accommodation search afterwards.

Nature

Kobuleti National Park is home to Ispani II, a rainwater-fed, percolating dome bog. The park contains the rare and endangered royal fern Osmunda regalis; otters are also found there. Kobuleti National Park is also notable for the diversity of its migratory bird species. The park is home to five species listed in Georgia’s Red List.

Kobuleti’s landscapes include alpine lakes, flower-filled meadows, dense forests and waterfalls. The municipality of Kobuleti features cascading waterfalls, shimmering lakes and pristine nature reserves.

Culinarily, Kobuleti is associated with beef stew with walnuts, Iakhni and Borano.

Activities

Hiking tours can be organised in the nearby protected areas of Kintrishi. The information centre at the entrance to Mtirala National Park is 2 km from Khala. The park offers two marked trails, as well as opportunities for hiking, horseback riding, adventure tours and ziplining.
