Trizs lies in the valley of the Csörgős Stream, at the upper end of a dry valley near the Slovakian border. The Trizsi horgásztó fishing lake is located on the outskirts of Trizs. The fishing lake covers 0.8 hectares, has an average depth of 2 to 3 metres and invites visitors to go fishing.

Culture and History

One of the oldest buildings in the village houses the Hagyományok Háza, an interactive local history museum and community centre. Furnished with donated furniture and household items, it presents village life in the past and has a traditional oven.

Trizs was first mentioned in writing in 1275. In the Middle Ages, the surrounding area was considered a royal estate, where royal guards settled to protect the forests and bodies of water.

Regional road no. 2603 runs through Trizs. The nearest railway stations are located in Bánréve, Putnok and Szendrő.
