History

In the cave-dwelling district of Part above Tibolddaróc, several hundred cave dwellings carved into the vineyard slopes existed between the two world wars. In the same cave-dwelling district, most of the former dwellings on the upper levels were destroyed by erosion; those on the lower levels were converted into wine cellars.

Pesti Patikus Pincéje is a three-storey cellar that is 300 years old. It has passageways dating from the time of the Mongol invasion.

Nature

In the Ablakoskő Valley (Karud alja), six niches carved into the rock can be found in low rock outcrops. Kőhodály is a sheepfold carved into rhyolite tuff and is located in the Karud woodland, 4 km from Tibolddaróc.

Szár-hegy, Galyas-tető, Kerékkötő-hegy and Alsó-Csákány are mountains in the vicinity of Tibolddaróc.

Culture

The Roman Catholic church of Tibolddaróc is made of unplastered reddish stone quarried locally; only the tower and the areas around the openings feature small sections that are plastered and painted white. The Roman Catholic church of Tibolddaróc is late Baroque and dates from 1826.

The walls of the Reformed church tower were extended upward in 1877–1878; the tower is 24 m high.
