It was established in 1928 behind the main campus building, after the original garden of the Reformed College was demolished. Nagyerdei Park is home to several different attractions. The Nagyerdei Szabadtéri Színpad open-air theatre is located in the middle of the park, among tall Scots pines and oaks. The Water Tower Adventure Center is another park attraction.

The Sziget-kék theme park opened in July 2022 beneath the shady trees of Nagyerdő, on the site of the Ötholdas Pagony playground. Together with the Agora Science Center, it expands the range of options with interactive and themed experiences.
