Culture and History

Nyírtass is a Hungarian municipality in the Kisvárda District of Szabolcs-Szatmár-Bereg County.

The town is located 13 km south of Kisvárda, near National Road 4.

The documented history of the settlement dates back to 1200. At that time, Tass was an important royal possession; the town was later renamed Nyírtass on December 22, 1908. The documented local history is therefore a specific point of reference for travelers interested in culture.
