Nature
Zhanaaul is located near the Kigach, which flows through the western part of Kurmangazy District. The river carries water year-round and divides into many channels as it approaches the Caspian Sea. Lotus flowers bloom in these Kigach channels in July and August.
Willows, reeds, and rushes grow along the banks of the Kigach. The river is used for recreational fishing, and fishing and tourist bases accommodate visitors. In Kurmangazy District, recreation bases for sport fishing welcome visitors for fishing and hunting. The Kigach base also offers picnics and prepared fish dishes associated with fishing on the Kigach.
Recreation areas around Kurmangazy serve local fish soup and fried fish. On lotus field eco-tours, visitors continue by boat on the Kigach after traveling to Kurmangazy from the Atyrau–Astrakhan road.
