Ananyevo: Hotels and accommodations

The Issyk-Kul State Nature Reserve is located in Anan’yevo. Lake Issyk-Kul is described as the second-largest high-altitude lake in the world and as remaining ice-free in winter.

A project to further develop the reserve in Anan’yevo is intended to support ecotourism and nature conservation. A wildlife rehabilitation center was established in the mountains near Anan’yevo in 2002. In addition to snow leopards, it has housed lynxes and rare birds. Rehabilitated animals are released when they are considered capable of surviving in the wild. A visit to the snow leopard rehabilitation center in Anan’yevo was also included in the program of a media tour.

Culture

The Church of St. Nicholas the Wonderworker is located at 21 Sovetsky Lane in Anan’yevo. A monument to St. Irakli of Issyk-Kul stands in the Orthodox cemetery of Anan’yevo. His grave in Anan’yevo is regularly visited by pilgrims from Kyrgyzstan, Kazakhstan, and Russia. Anan’yevo is home to a museum and a monument associated with Nikolai Ananyev.

The Issyk-Kul mountain region is described as an area that preserves near-natural habitats alongside traditional culture. The Balykchy–Anan’yevo–Karakol road passes through Anan’yevo along the northern shore of Issyk-Kul.
