Geographical Location
Sary-Tash is a road junction for traveling south toward Tajikistan and the Pamirs, as well as east to the Irkeshtam border crossing with China. From Osh, the settlement can be reached by shared taxi via the paved A372 in approximately four to five hours. From Sary-Tash, onward travel by local transport or an organized 4WD vehicle is possible toward Sary-Mogol, the base camp of Peak Lenin, or Kyzyl-Art Pass and the Tajik border.
A Pamir Highway route includes Sary-Tash on the Karakul–Sary-Tash–Osh section. Sary-Tash can serve as a transit point for accommodation and meals. A guesthouse in Sary-Tash offers dinner, overnight accommodation, and breakfast.
Walks through Sary-Tash and visits to nearby viewpoints are possible without a guide. The Osh-Travel yurt camp is located 700 meters from the main Osh–Sary-Tash road.
