Inčukalns

The Inčukalna bibliotēka library hosts exhibitions, themed events and meetings with book authors. Inčukalna stacija railway station is also known as Hincenberg and was established when the Riga–Valka railway line was built. At the Inčukalna Sporta centrs sports centre, the swimming pool has four lanes and is 25 metres long.

A historic landmark is the “Vecais pasts” building, constructed in 1897. The “Vecais pasts” community centre was also recognised for creating a new cultural venue. In addition, the historical exhibition “Stāvēju, dziedāju augstajā Inčukalnā” is planned. It is intended to present historical evidence, memories and stories about choral, dance, music and theatre traditions in Inčukalna parish.

The memorial sites also give a stay a historical dimension. The “Sērojošā māte” monument was unveiled on 16 July 1944. It is dedicated to the partisans who fell for their homeland in 1941 and was restored on 5 November 2020. The memorial stone at Inčukalna stacija railway station commemorates the victims of the communist genocide. These sites therefore represent different historical connections and should be considered separately during a culturally focused tour.

Siguldas novads municipality has established an obstacle course in Inčukalns. The Inčukalna šķēršļu trase includes, among other things, a climbing wall, movable stairs, a rope course and a suspension bridge with swings. Its specific features make the course an independent activity focus that is clearly distinct from the cultural and memorial sites.

Swimming is available at the Inčukalna Sporta centrs sports centre. In addition to the swimming pool, the described facilities include a sauna, a steam room and a hydromassage tub.

Inčukalna Velnala is a cave associated with legends. An underground watercourse can be heard inside it. The path to the cave leads past broad meadows. This destination therefore differs clearly from the historical sites and the sports centre: the focus here is on the cave, its legendary tradition, the audible water and the landscape along the way.
