Pāvilosta’s Gray Dune is the widest gray dune in Latvia. It stretches 1.5 kilometers along the sea and up to 812 meters inland. The beach promenade path runs along this landscape and provides insights into the plants typical of the Gray Dune. The path therefore not only follows the water but also reveals the distinctive character of the coastal landscape.
Pāvilosta Beach is a popular place for tourism and recreation in summer. This is a different focus from a walk along the Gray Dune: here, spending time at the beach takes center stage, while the promenade path provides access to the landscape and its vegetation. During storms, the beach is also popular with surfers, kitesurfers and windsurfers.
What can you experience along the promenade and jetties?
Pāvilosta’s promenade is suitable for family walks and other strolls. Along the way, you can observe the fishing boats and sailing yachts moored in the harbor. This combination of waterside views and harbor scenes makes the promenade interesting even if you are not planning a longer excursion in the surrounding area.

Pāvilosta’s north jetty is 333.97 meters long, and the south jetty is 334.10 meters long. Each figure refers to the individual jetty and should not be confused with the approximately 200-meter-long promenade along the jetties.
