As early as 1786, Januška-Januškevičius had an initial wooden chapel built here. The present-day Church of Jesus the Crucified dates from 1855. It features characteristics of Lithuanian folk architecture: a rectangular floor plan with an apse and two small towers. In 1867, it became a subsidiary church of the Betygala parish. At the beginning of the 20th century, the building underwent extensive repairs and acquired its present appearance. The previous page for the village incorrectly named a Church of the Exaltation of the Holy Cross; this dedication is not supported by current local information. Palukščio Manor Estate and village life
The wooden Palukščio Manor Estate has been mentioned in historical sources since the 16th century. Information boards stand on its grounds, and some farm buildings have been restored. This makes it a second historical destination, not a promised hotel complex or a museum with fixed opening hours. A branch of the Raseiniai District Marcelijus Martinaitis Public Library is located at 3 Šventupio Street. Here, too, check visitor access and opening hours for the specific day.
