Culture

The Rokiškis Regional Museum houses more than 90,000 exhibits. It has been located in Rokiškis Manor for almost half a century. The museum also has the only collection of nativity figures in Lithuania.

The Church of Saint Matthew the Apostle and Evangelist in Rokiškis was built in 1877 by Count Reinholdas Tyzenhauzas. Drum ceremonies take place in the church at Easter; on Good Friday and on the evening of Holy Saturday, a 17th-century drum is played during Mass.

The Rokiškio Calvaries are a regional architectural and religious monument that was entered in the Lithuanian Register of Cultural Heritage in 1993. More than 300 shutters were painted during plein-air events on Tapytų langinių gatvė.

The “AquaJump Rokiškis” water park has two courses: one for beginners and one for professionals. On the beginner course at “AquaJump Rokiškis,” visitors can ride either an inflatable tube or a wakeboard.

The 56.5-meter-high tower of the Church of Saint Matthew the Apostle and Evangelist offers views over Rokiškis. The Velykalnis recreation area in Rokiškis has outdoor tennis courts and a beach volleyball facility.

Trails and landscape

The Rokiškio Calvaries include chapels and small Stations of the Cross shrines distributed over greater distances throughout the town and the hilly landscape. Lionginas Šepka Park in Rokiškis is decorated with more than 100 functional sculptures.
