Kelmė: Hotels and Accommodations

The Kelmė Manor ensemble is a state-protected cultural heritage site and is considered a rare surviving Baroque manor settlement in the Lithuanian provinces. Planning a trip may also include finding a hotel in Kelmė.

Culture

Nine buildings from the time of the manor settlement have been preserved at Kelmė Manor. The Evangelical Reformed Church of Kelmė has a Gothic three-sided apse and is a surviving building combining the Gothic and Renaissance styles. It was built in 1615 with financial support from Jurgis Gruževskis.

The uprising of 1831 against Tsarist Russia began in Lithuania first at Kelmė Manor.

Townscape

The AJJU Art Museum displays a special art collection created by all four family members. The AJJU Art Museum and the AJJU Open-Air Gallery are located at Dariaus ir Girėno St. 95 in Kelmė.

A stream flows through the AJJU Open-Air Gallery. There, visitors can view the paintings while standing on a footbridge. A bus painted with flowers, visible in the fields, serves as a landmark for the AJJU Art Museum.
