Glichów

Glichów lies in the so-called Wiśniowa Basin. Notable features of the village include a wooden homestead from the 18th century that has been preserved in the village, Homestead No. 3 dating from 1881, and a manor complex in a landscape park. On September 12, 1944, a battle over the so-called Glichów Bridge took place on the boundary between Glichów and Poznachowice Dolne. During the occupation, the Home Army (AK) Women’s Service operated a field hospital in Glichów; secret classes were also held there.

Along with the historic wooden buildings and memories of the occupation, this change adds an example of how a building’s use has changed to the village’s architectural and cultural history.
