Łęczna lies in the hills of the Lublin Upland at the confluence of the Wieprz and Świnka rivers. The town has no railway station and is located on National Road 82 between Lublin and Włodawa.

Culture and History

The ruins of the manor complex serve as a recreational area. A viewing tower stands in the former hop-drying facility, and a flower meadow is suitable for picnics. The site also preserves ruins associated with the former Łęczna estate and its 19th-century owner, Jan Gottlieb Bloch.

The historic center includes the Great Synagogue from the mid-17th century, St. Mary Magdalene Church, and a manor-and-park complex with the site of a 15th-century castle.

Landscape

Łęczna lies on a treeless loess plateau beside the Wieprz Valley. The older part of the town is situated on a high steep slope between the Wieprz and Świnka rivers.

Cycling

In Łęczna County, cycling routes run along side roads, through forest complexes and along the waters of the lake district. Route 2 passes through Łęczna and Spiczyn.
