At Baza Sărata, therapeutic bathing in saltwater is possible in outdoor pools; warm water may be used there only on a doctor's recommendation. Baza Sărata also has two swimming pools supplied with warm, saline mineral water.

Motel Levisticum operates with an 8 × 18 metre swimming pool and 200 sun loungers. I.F. Coşeraru Iorgu operates with a saltwater pool for 60 people.

Culture and history

The Sărata–Dealul Conțului archaeological site is located in the Talpa area, northeast of Talpa and northwest of Sărata. The Sărata–Dealul Conțului site is classified as a civilian settlement from the Eneolithic and Bronze Age.

Sărata is documented in 1776. An archaeological site was discovered at the Dealul Conțului site in Sărata and assigned to phases A and A-B of the Cucuteni culture.

The Carpic settlement of Sărata–Coasta Moşului is located on a high hill west of Sărata and southwest of Băi.

Transport and everyday life

County road DJ119 crosses the municipality of Sărata and connects it northeast with Bacău and south with Nicolae Bălcescu, Faraoani, Cleja, Răcăciuni, Gura Văii and Oneşti.

In Sărata, county road DJ119B branches off from DJ119 and leads north to Luizi-Călugăra, Măgura, Mărgineni and Hemeiuş; in Măgura, it crosses DN11. The municipality of Sărata is located near European route E85 between Bacău and Adjud.

For route planning, you can consider the course of DJ119 and the northern branch, DJ119B, as two separate reference lines.

Locals generally use the saltwater from the springs of Sărata to preserve meat and lard and to prepare pickled vegetables.

The hilltops south of Bălțața are designated as suitable for paragliding or hang gliding. A stud farm for purebred Arabian horses is designated as a local facility in Sărata.
