During restoration work in the summer of 2019, a fresco of Saint Ladislaus was discovered on the exterior wall of the Roman Catholic church in Székelyszentlélek. In addition to Saint Ladislaus, the mural ensemble on the exterior wall of the Catholic church also depicts the armoured Saint George, the dragon slayer. The fresco of Saint Ladislaus in the medieval church of Székelyszentlélek is dated to around 1420.

Religious Imagery

The newly discovered depiction of Saint Ladislaus shows the king fighting a bear. The only known pictorial depiction of this legend is located on the northern exterior wall of the medieval church in Székelyszentlélek.
