Rohia: Piatra Pintii, Monastery and Festivalul de Pricesne

Rohia connects a route to Piatra Pintii with other scenic destinations. The route leads to Piatra Pintii at an elevation of 580 m. There are three access options from Rohia to Piatra Pintii. Hikes also lead to Vârful Aluniș near Piatra Pintii. Routes and hikes require different checks during preparation: before setting out, travelers can check the current trail conditions and the transport timetables applicable on the day of travel. Piatra Pintii is considered a silica-rich sandstone slab. It is approximately 2–2.5 m high, 3–3.5 m wide, and 10–12 m long. At approximately 10–12 m in length, it is overall longer than it is high or wide. These measurements describe the sandstone slab in terms of height, width, and length and make its spatial extent concrete.

A tall, vertical, ochre-beige sandstone gorge is visible from the Rohia–Fântânele road. Large, layered trovants lie within it. Sport fishing and swimming are possible at Tăul Lighet in the vicinity of Rohia. The Dealul Vimii and Breaza mountains are also located in the surrounding area. Nicolae Steinhardt lived his monastic life at Mănăstirea „Sfânta Ana“ in Rohia. Mănăstirea „Sfânta Ana“ is a monastery for monks. The „Casa Poetului“ at Mănăstirea Rohia was built between 1977 and 1979. The Chilia Părintelui Nicolae Steinhardt at Mănăstirea Rohia has been set up as a small museum. Museum visits should be planned around the current opening hours; for a monastery visit, travelers can check the applicable visiting hours in advance.

The summit Vârful Rugiu and the mountain Sdârcea Mare are located in the wider regional area around Rohia. The Mânăstirea Habra monastery is also located in this wider regional area. Churches in this area include Biserica Ortodoxă Nou Strâmbu-Băiuţ, Biserica Poiana Botizii, and Biserica Romano-Catolică Băiuţ.

The Festivalul de Pricesne event series at Mănăstirea Sfânta Ana–Rohia began in 2012 on the Feast of the Annunciation. The Festivalul de Pricesne was held annually outdoors at the summer altar of Mănăstirea Sfânta Ana–Rohia.

The program included church choirs from Libotin, Cupșeni, Suciu de Sus, Petrova, Posta, and Finteușu Mic, as well as the Tradiții Lăpușene ensemble from the cultural center in Târgu Lăpuș. For events, travelers should check the current event date and the announced time before traveling.
