In 1904, after clearing the forest, the Austro-Hungarian administration founded a colony with a Hungarian population, from which today’s Moșnița Nouă emerged.

Geographical location
Moșnița Nouă Commune is located in a flat landscape at elevations between 80 and 100 metres. The area consists mainly of arable land, pastures and meadows. From Timișoara, Moșnița Nouă can be reached directly via county road DJ 592.
History
In the traditional settlement plan, the church, school, town hall, parish house and other communal buildings were located in the centre of the settlement. Moșnița Nouă is also home to the monument commemorating the Romanian Revolution hero Briciu Leontin.
The house at Strada Urseni 132 in Moșnița Nouă dates from 1920 and is listed under monument code TM-II-m-B-06263. The “Aşezarea de epocă neolitică de la Moşniţa Nouă - Obiectiv 4” is a Neolithic civilian settlement of the Vinča culture.
Culture
The Ruga in Moșnița Nouă takes place on 20 July. The celebration begins with a service in the village church, followed by folk performances by ensembles and groups from the commune.
Leisure
Bazinul de Înot Moșnița Nouă offers swimming lessons for all age groups and lists professional instructors as part of its offering. It is located at Strada Verde 2, just a few steps from the centre of the settlement.
The investment in the “Județul în Miniatură” park in Moșnița Nouă has been completed. The project transformed more than 5,300 square metres in Moșnița Nouă into a green area intended for the community. The completed park includes redesigned paths, a children’s playground, themed pavilions and street furniture.
Kendo Play offers a three-hour children’s activity package with an inflatable slide, basketball, football and volleyball courts, zip lines, climbing walls and an adventure course.
