Lake Zaovine is a pumped-storage reservoir created by the 125 m-high Lazići dam in the valley of the Beli Rzav. Thus, Zaovine brings together an artificial lake, forested mountain slopes and a river valley.

The 1,473 m-high JanjaÄ peak is located in Zaovine above Gornje Karaklije, on the border between Serbia and Republika Srpska in Bosnia and Herzegovina. The peak can be reached via a themed trail through the village of Karaklije. From JanjaÄ, there is a panoramic view of the Zaovine area and the Tara massif.
The area's cultural heritage includes Old Vlach log houses and seasonally used shepherds' huts known as baÄije. They point to traditional forms of rural life, without allowing any conclusions to be drawn about the amenities of present-day accommodation.

Swimming in Lake Zaovine is possible in summer. There is no designated bathing beach; most visitors swim in the area of the Lazići dam.

Ravna Stena, also called Grad, is located in Zaovine near the Lazići dam and Lake Spajići. The designated hiking trail No. 29 leads there. Ravna Stena is an erosion-formed monolith with a viewpoint and the remains of a former early Byzantine fortification. Tara National Park lists the trail as the Luke–Ravna Stena (Grad) route.
