The cultural offerings also include the Ladko Korošec Memorial Room. The multimedia room focuses on his image and distinctive voice. It is located in the Weinberger House, where Korošec first played his recordings to friends upon returning to Zagorje. Another highlight is the f 2.8 Photo Gallery, established in August 2020 next to the former miners’ bathhouse “Vašhava” in Zagorje ob Savi. Its exhibition area focuses on selected photographers from Zasavje as well as outstanding artists from across Slovenia.

Dr. Janez Drnovšek Park features a bronze bust of Dr. Janez Drnovšek, a sign marking the 15th meridian and the sculpture “Turn of the Century” (“Prelom stoletja”). The park is located in the town centre next to the regional road through Zagorje. Other visible features of the town include a fountain with a bronze fibula. It displays a replica of a Hallstatt-period belt buckle that was found in Zagorje at the end of the 19th century.

Recurring cultural events are also part of public life in Zagorje ob Savi. The Slovenian Flute Festival was first held there in 1996 and takes place every two years. The programme includes concerts, master classes, public lessons, workshops, panel discussions, project presentations, as well as exhibitions of flutes, sheet music and musical accessories. Revija Zagorje ob Savi is a biennial competition for children’s and youth choirs that has been held since 1968.

The tourist portal of the Municipality of Zagorje ob Savi brings together traditional events as well as hiking and cycling routes for visitors. “Totalna panika” offers a special way to explore the area: this urban adventure through Zagorje ob Savi leads from one point to another and includes tasks.

Several named routes describe different ways of moving through the municipality. Iskranjca is a challenging trail approximately 5.4 kilometres long, running from Zagorje railway station to the pond in Zagorje. Rudarska pot Srečno is suitable for walking, recreation and relaxation, as well as for visiting natural and cultural attractions, with a focus on the area’s technical mining heritage. Separate from this is Pot Srečno: it begins in Zagorje ob Savi, and 4.9 kilometres of the route run through the Municipality of Zagorje ob Savi.

For mountain biking, Mountainbike park Cilenca offers four mountain-bike trails: Forest Bump (Flow), Jumanji, Super Mario and French Connection. Evropark is a sports and recreation park created by renaturalising the former Ruardi area for slag and mining waste. In addition to two interconnected flow basins, it has walking paths and a cycling path.
