Malik: Hotels and accommodations

Malikrabot is an ancient settlement on the Silk Road. In Malikrabot, Sardoba Malik has been preserved, a monument dating from the 11th century in the “Sardoba” mahalla area in Karmana District. Culture

Two historical architectural monuments have been preserved in Malikrabot: Raboti Malik, dating from the 11th century, and a sardoba. The Rabati Malik caravanserai was built at the behest of the Karakhanid ruler Shams-al-Mulk Nasr, who ruled in Samarkand from 1068 to 1080. Today, only the portal of the former large Rabati Malik caravanserai remains above ground. The Rabati Malik caravanserai has been conserved and is open to tourist visits.

In the vicinity of Malikrabot lies Raboti-Maliktepa (Bekmehmontepa), a state-protected archaeological monument dating from the 6th to the 12th century in the “Sardoba” mahalla area in Karmana District. The Deggaron Mosque is also still in operation in the vicinity of Malikrabot. It is located in the village of Hazora in Karmana District.

The Sarmishsoy Gorge in the vicinity of Malikrabot contains petroglyphs more than 10,000 years old. More than 5,000 rock carvings have been found in the Sarmishsoy Gorge and its surroundings. The rock art in Sarmishsoy Gorge includes hunting scenes, among other subjects.

Getting around

In earlier times, Malikrabot served as a stopping place where caravans replenished their water and supplies before continuing their journeys. A large sardoba made of fired bricks stands beside the road; travelers can enter and visit it via steps.

A two-day travel program for the Navoiy Region goes at 2:30 p.m. to the sardoba, the Rabot Malik caravanserai, and the Mavlono Orif Deggaroniy Mausoleum. Navoiy city airport is located near Malikrabot.
