From May 25 to June 10 the capital of Czech Moravia, Brno, will celebrate the festival of entertainment. Initially in 2001 this event was created as a holiday in honor of the beginning of the summer tourist season, but over time it evolved into a unique festival, where every guest regardless of age and interests will find suitable entertaining, cultural, sporting or educational program.
The main event of the celebration will be the fifteenth festival of fireworks IGNIS BRUNENSIS, which is considered to be the largest in Europe and one of the best in the world. This year it will be held on the dam lake near the city. The dam itself with the lake creates a natural amphitheater, where special seats will be installed.
Requirements of the firework competition are quite strict. In the beginning teams from different countries must present a mandatory two-minute program to music common for all participants. This year, in honor of the Olympic Games it will be a part of John Williams' musical work The Olympic spirit. The final fireworks extravaganza of the festival will be held by the Špilberk fortress on June 8 at 22.30 pm.
Festival program also includes such entertainment events as the Czech vintage bike championship (bicycle elegance), international police patrol driving competition and Ballons Jam festival. In addition, on June 3 at the Brno dam will be held the battle of Midway - reconstruction of the battle of giant ship, submarine and aircraft radio-controlled models. The youngest guests of the festival from May 27 will be able to enjoy a special program as part of the project "Children Days in the heart of Europe".
