For the sixth time Hradec Králové, which is located in Eastern Bohemia, invites connoisseurs of glassblowing and ceramics. Here on the beautiful Tyla waterfront will be held the traditional festival of glass and ceramics (Nabrezi keramiky a skla 2012). During the festival will be organized exhibitions of unique products from the best glass artists from all over the country, as well as old Bohemian crystal products kept in the Czech baroque pearl - Karlova Koruna Castle. These exhibits will be available for the visitors only for watching, but at the fair holiday guests will be able to buy any souvenir. In addition to fairs and exhibitions ethnic music concerts will be held during the whole day at the Nabrezi keramiky a skla 2012. The fest will be held on August 18, entrance to all events is free.
Hradec Kralove was not chosen by chance to host such a festival. The city has long been famous for its glassblowing traditions and ceramics workshops. Here is located the Czech Institute of Glass and the Museum of ancient ceramics. However, not only Nabrezi keramiky a skla 2012 attracts tourists, but also Hradec Kralove itself. This ancient city with amazing history has preserved most of its historic monuments. It is situated at the confluence of the rivers Elbe and Orlica. In addition the Elbe River divides the city into the Old and New parts. The city is surrounded by huge centuries-old woodland, which forms beautiful parklands in the surrounding areas. In the Old City are located the main attractions of Hradec Kralove. Among them is the baroque Jesuit Church of the Assumption of the Virgin Mary of the XVII century, the Gothic Cathedral of the Holy Spirit of the XIV century, as well as the ancient tower of the Silesian gates.
