Dobrinishte: Hotels and Accommodation

The Church of Saints Peter and Paul in the center of Dobrinishte was built in 1835 and is designated as a cultural monument because of its architectural value. Its iconostasis is decorated with wood carvings by masters from the Debar region; the royal doors were brought here from the Rila Monastery.

In the central northern part of Dobrinishte are the remains of an Early Neolithic settlement covering approximately seven decares. Excavations uncovered house foundations, tools, pottery, and anthropomorphic figurines. The settlement is associated with the southwestern variant of the Karanovo I culture. The Historical and Ethnographic Museum in Dobrinishte displays material tracing the history of the settlement from antiquity to the present day.

Two old bathing pools on the river in Dobrinishte have Roman foundations and Ottoman upper masonry. The town’s cultural heritage also includes preserved local folklore and the popular Desilitsa music group.

Dobrinishte has 17 mineral springs, concentrated in the northern part of the town along the river. The Dobrinishte mineral bath is located in the town park and is easily accessible to pedestrians and cars. An open-air pool known as the Roman Bath is located on the outskirts of Dobrinishte in the direction of Eleshnitsa.

The chairlift to Bezbog Hut provides environmentally friendly access to Pirin National Park from Dobrinishte. In the mountain area reached from Dobrinishte, a ski slope runs from Bezbog Hut to Gotse Delchev Hut.

Near Dobrinishte, the Bezbog section of the park includes part of the Yulen Reserve, Polezhan Peak, and the cirque of the Polezhan Lakes. Also nearby, a marked route leads from Bezbog Hut via Popovo Lake and Djano Peak to the Kremenski Lakes. It crosses glacial lakes arranged on terraces between 2,139 and 2,359 meters. The route to the Kremenski Lakes offers a wide panorama toward the basin and the green hills of the Rhodope Mountains.

Nearby is St. Nicholas Waterfall in the foothills of Pirin between Bansko and Dobrinishte.

Dobrinishte is the terminus of a 125-kilometer narrow-gauge railway line that runs from the Upper Thracian Lowland through the Rhodope Mountains and the Rila Mountains to the foot of Pirin.
