Gotse Delchev: Hotels and Accommodation

The Municipal Historical Museum is housed in a building constructed in 1877 in the Bulgarian Baroque style. It comprises twelve exhibition halls, a lapidarium, and a courtyard. The archaeological exhibition features a Thracian chariot and fragments from the Roman city of Nikopolis ad Nestum dating from the 2nd century.

The museum's annual exhibitions present archaeological finds associated with Thracian, Slavic, and Proto-Bulgarian cultures that were discovered in the Mesta Valley. The traditional Bulgarian costumes from the Gotse Delchev area are characterized by a wide variety of forms and colors.

The remains of Nikopolis ad Nestum lie 7 kilometers east of Gotse Delchev. Nikopolis ad Nestum is one of the few surviving ancient cities in Bulgaria and the only one in the Rhodopes dating from the period of Roman rule in the Balkans.

Part of the municipality lies within Pirin National Park, which has been included on the UNESCO World Heritage List. The area around the Delchevska River includes the Chinarbey Natural Monument and the centuries-old chestnut trees known as the Twins; the trees are located 1.5 kilometers west of Gotse Delchev. The wider municipal area also includes the Mesta Gorge and the Orelyak Nature Reserve.

The Orelyak Nature Reserve lies entirely within the municipality and protects a remarkable beech forest that is more than 150 years old.

Popovi Livadi has rest areas, hotels, villas, bungalows, and dining establishments. A mountain-bike enduro/all-mountain trail begins in Popovi Livadi and ends in Delchevo.

Activities are offered at a fishpond on the Mesta River, which also has a specialized fish restaurant. Uva Nestum is located 1.5 kilometers from Gotse Delchev on the road to Leshten and Kovachevitsa and is a winery as well as a boutique restaurant-enoteca. The Mesta River Valley is described as suitable for viticulture.
