Sozopol’s history is particularly tangible in the Old Town and the Archaeological Museum. Sozopol’s Old Town was declared a museum in 1974. The Archaeological Museum presents more than 1,000 objects dating from the late 6th millennium BC to the 18th century. These include ancient Greek vases, amphorae, stone anchors and lead sounding weights.
Getting There and the Port
Sozopol is connected to Burgas and other places on the Black Sea via road I-9/E87. There is no railway connection. The town also has a regional port, a marina and berths for fishing boats.
