Ograzhden: Hotels and Accommodations

Ograzhden is home to a restored relief map of Bulgaria, created in 1956 by teacher Docho Gyokov and his students. Later, residents of nearby Kardam uncovered the map, fenced it in, gave it a new color scheme, and restored it.

Ograzhden is also associated with remains from the Roman era. These include traces of a fortress, the remains of an aqueduct, roof tiles bearing the stamp “Roma,” and stones used in the construction of the fortress.

Ograzhden is associated with Russian, Ukrainian, and Belarusian communities that settled there after 1900 and 1917. Local crafts developed in connection with this history.

Biserica Cerchezu is located in the immediate vicinity of Ograzhden. Biserica Măgura, Biserica Căscioarele, and Biserica Viroaga are located in the surrounding area.

From Kardam, the route follows Dobritsa Street to the end of the asphalt and then continues along an old, dusty dirt road. According to the municipal description, this further section is approximately 2.5 km long and takes about 10 minutes.
