Tervel: Hotels and Accommodation

The municipal museum of Tervel, located on Khan Asparuh Street, includes a dedicated hall on Kan Tervel, sections on spiritual heritage and ethnography, a presentation of local crafts, and an art gallery. The museum gallery's collection contains 270 works.

The Ethnographic Hall contains more than 980 exhibits. In its presentation of traditional domestic interiors, it also features a reconstructed bread room. The museum's crafts room displays household items made by artisans.

The museum's interactive visitor experiences include a holographic reconstruction about Kan Tervel and a children's activity in which a depiction of his treaty with Byzantium is sealed with red wax.

Tervel's cultural heritage also includes the monument to Jordan Yovkov. It is a marble bust whose pedestal depicts scenes from the author's stories on all four sides.

The late antique and medieval Palmate Fortress near Onogur stood along the Roman road from Durostorum to Marcianopolis and served as a secular, religious, and administrative center.

The Gyaur Evleri rock monastery complex comprises a church and nine monastic cells carved into a three-tiered rock wall. An early Christian basilica is located in Palmatys Fortress near Onogur.

Near Tervel, Sukhata Reka within the Obshtina Tervel was designated as the bird protection area BG0002048 under a 2007 order. In addition, under the 2020 order BG0000107, it was designated as a protected area for natural habitats and wild flora and fauna.

The Sukhata Reka Canyon contains more than 460 plant species, including 16 listed in Bulgaria's Red Data Book. Sukhata Reka functions as a north–south migration and dispersal corridor for species with southern distributions. From a distance, the dry valley resembles a canyon.

A hiking loop near Onogur begins at a dam, passes caves, rock monasteries such as Monetarnitsata, and the remains of Balishka Fortress, and returns to the dam.

The Dobruzhanski Folk Festival, a forum for the folklore of Dobrudja, takes place in Tervel. It is held in the town center on two stages and is occasionally accompanied by a craft market.

The wooded areas of the Obshtina Tervel support hunting tourism as a form of active recreation.
