Culture and History

The Historical Museum of Straldzha is housed in a building considered a cultural monument, constructed as a granary in 1893. The collections cover the history of the town from antiquity to the present day and include archaeological material, photographs, documents, and traditional Buene and Kukeri costumes.

The Historical Museum also displays an amphora, coins, and ceramics found at Marash. The Church of the Holy Archangel Michael in Straldzha was built in 1857, is an architectural and artistic cultural monument, and contains valuable icons and wood carvings.

Festivals and Music

A Kukeri festival is held every year in Straldzha in early spring. The annual Marash Pee folklore festival has been part of Bulgaria's national cultural calendar for several decades.

The Straldzha folklore ensemble Vuzhichki was founded in 1964 and has performed in Poland, Czechoslovakia, Germany, and Hungary. Straldzha is also associated with the “Songs of Vulkana Stoyanova” singing competition, which takes place every two years.

Hiking and Landscape

The Lyulyak tourist hut is located in Straldzha's Terziyski Bair, in the Marasha locality. From there, a short hike leads to Marash–Kaleto.
