Malki Voden: Hotels and Accommodation

Culture and History

Gluhite Kamani rises above Malki Voden in the Eastern Rhodopes. More than 200 trapezoidal niches have been cut into the rock massif. Remains of an early Christian church are also preserved there, which is believed to have been part of a fifth- or sixth-century monastic complex.

The East Trans-Rhodopian Road continues from Malki Voden towards Valche Pole and Adrianople. An observation and communications tower stood on Pyramid Peak northeast of Malki Voden and was used to observe the East Trans-Rhodopian Road. The location of Pyramid Peak is described as having lines of sight to surrounding defensive and observation facilities.
