Razgrad: Hotels and Accommodation

East of the village of Razgrad, the Razgrad observation point is located on a plateau in the western part of the Zlatiyata protected area; it is used for the visual monitoring of diurnal bird migration. Anyone wishing to book a hotel in Razgrad can continue searching for accommodation afterwards.

Nature

A total of 100 bird species have been recorded at the Razgrad observation point, including 85 migratory species. During surveys of the autumn migration, it was one of two sites where the Eastern Imperial Eagle was recorded. A total of 58,324 migrating birds were counted in the area of the observation point, including 8,107 birds in soaring flight. The observation point also has the highest recorded number of migrating White Storks in the Danube lowland.

The area around the village of Razgrad is characterized as having the most intensive migration of soaring birds in the Danube lowland. An observation point for the autumn migration in the area of the village of Razgrad recorded six early-migrating Black Storks on 5 August 2011. In the nearby area between Razgrad and Valchedram, near the Tsibritsa River, a field survey in 2021 recorded a breeding pair of White Storks.

History

The village of Razgrad in Valchedram Municipality was settled during the Ottoman period by Bulgarian migrants from the city of Razgrad. The nearby village of Krumovo was founded around 1764 by settlers from Nish and the surrounding area. The settlements of Razgrad and Krumovo merged in 1955 to form the village of Razgrad.

The community center in the village of Razgrad is located on the second floor of a former agricultural complex building, which later became municipal property.

A main road runs through the villages of Zlatiya and Razgrad in Valchedram Municipality. The village of Razgrad has two bridges, including one over the Tsibritsa.
