Hiking and Mountain Landscapes
A signposted educational trail leads from the outskirts of Zelenigrad to Shili Kamik. The route is 1.25 km in each direction and has nine information boards covering local history, flora and fauna.
The ascent from Zelenigrad to Ruy leads via Shili Kamik, Tsareva Church and Tsvetanovo Izhle toward the summit. It is physically demanding and climbs almost 1,000 meters of elevation over less than 5 km.
The route to the summit is marked in red; green and yellow branches lead to nearby attractions. There is no water along the route, so hikers should carry sufficient supplies.
Culture and History
The “Manastir Sveta Bogoroditsa” Monastery is located in the surrounding area of Zelenigrad. “Manastir Sveta Bogorodica,” “Manastir Svetog Jovana” and “Karaula Obrenovačka” are located in the wider regional area.
At the foot of Shili Kamik lies the rock church “Tsareva Church” in a natural cave. Its entrance forms an approximately 4-meter-high rock arch and opens onto a view of the valley of the Zelenigrad River.
The remains of an ancient fortress are located near Zelenigrad. Sections of the walls as well as fragments of ancient building structures and household pottery have been preserved.
