Sliwniza: Hotels and Accommodation

Northwest of Sliwniza, the formations Tri Ushi, Puklina and Meka Prev are associated with the battles of the Serbo-Bulgarian War in November 1885. The area around these formations contains settlement remains from several historical periods, as well as a cave near Peklyuchki Kamik.

History

The First Soldier Monument in Aldomirovtsi is described as Bulgaria's first soldiers' monument. It is a granite monument above the mass grave of the 7th Preslavsky Infantry Regiment from the Serbo-Bulgarian War of 1885. The monument was unveiled on 7 November 1891 and is listed among Bulgaria's 100 National Tourist Sites under number 62a.

The ossuary monument in Slivnitsa commemorates 196 military personnel who died from their wounds outside the battlefield during the wars of 1912–1913 and 1915–1918. Since the cemetery enclosure was relocated in April 1957, the monument has been publicly accessible to residents and visitors.

The Chapel of St. George was built by Reverend Todor and his son, Reverend Georgi. The city route through Slivnitsa passes the memorials to Captain Vasil Danadzhiev and Second Lieutenant Ivan Bobev; both officers were killed in the Battle of Slivnitsa in 1885.

The memorial in the New Cemetery above Slivnitsa commemorates Bulgarian and Serbian soldiers who were killed in the Serbo-Bulgarian War of 1885. It is a six-metre-high cross that was opened and consecrated on 1 June 2010.

In the centre of Slivnitsa stands the granite monument “Heroes of Slivnitsa”. It was erected in 1935 and is 20 metres high.

Nature

Aldomirovsko Swamp is located in the area of Aldomirovtsi within the municipality of Slivnitsa. It is a protected area that is important for regional biodiversity and supports numerous resident or breeding wetland bird species.

Landscape and Trails

The Warrior Memory Eco Trail features a commemorative plaque and a wooden observation tower. The trail offers views of nearby settlements and the hills where fighting took place in 1885.
