Culture
Local cultural activists preserved a house from the Bulgarian National Revival period in the town center of Shipka and converted it into the Chirpanlieva House ethnographic museum. The house is one of the few surviving buildings from this era in Shipka and houses a valuable ethnographic collection. It preserves glass plates by Antip Obusharov documenting life in Shipka between 1906 and 1931.
The Svetlina-1861 Community Center in Shipka is one of Bulgaria’s first community centers and has a rich, well-preserved history.
The Memorial Church of the Nativity of Christ is located in the town of Shipka. This religious and historical monument features gilded domes, a bell tower, and frescoes. Its crypt preserves the remains of almost 9,000 Russian and Bulgarian soldiers from the Russo-Turkish War of 1877–1878.
Near Shipka, the National Park-Museum Shipka at Shipka Peak presents an open-air battlefield complex with monuments, reconstructed positions, batteries, and trenches. The Freedom Monument contains a seven-story exhibition and a viewing platform with panoramic views of the historic battlefield. The museum also offers transport and hiking excursions to sites within the park.
Near Shipka is the Thracian Tomb of Seuthes III at Golyama Kosmatka, 1 kilometer south of the town; it is listed with visiting hours. The Shushmanets mound temple is also located 1 kilometer south of Shipka and features a corridor, an antechamber, and a round vaulted chamber with white plaster. The Ostrusha tomb and cult complex lies 2 kilometers south of Shipka and includes a monolithic chamber carved out of a large block of stone.
Hiking
The BosilkoveÈ› Trail is accessible during most of the year. It connects Shipka, StrÅmnata Polyana, and Buzludzha Hut. The Shipka–Shipka Monastery–Russian Cemeteries–Shipka Peak route is intended as an educational hiking trail.

Near Shipka, the Archaeocomplex offers five guesthouses with a capacity of up to 30 people.
Getting there
The Memorial Church of the Nativity of Christ is easily accessible by car. From Kazanlak, it can be reached by intercity bus route 6.
