Culture and History

The more than 130-year-old Ekimdzhiev House is part of the architectural ensemble of Diko Iliev Square. The multimedia exhibition “Marin Varbanov. The Prince of Oryahovo” is presented in the house.

The “Diko Iliev and the Brass Bands” house museum presents an exhibition on urban life in the 1920s and 1930s. The Ethnographic House features the “Folk Life and Culture” exhibition. Its courtyard also has a protected area with benches and a table for reenactments of patriotic activities.

The “Prof. Marin Varbanov” Art Gallery regularly hosts exhibitions by guest artists. The central building of the Oryahovo History Museum houses the “Archaeology” exhibition and a hall for temporary exhibitions.

The Centre for Cultural and Historical Heritage in Oryahovo provides information services for visitors to the municipality. It produces videos about local rituals and traditions, records folk song performances, and documents reenactments of traditional regional rituals.

On-Site Visits

Kamaka is open year-round and admission is free. It can be reached via a paved road open to both pedestrians and cars; there is no organised transport or guided tour service available there.

The Oryahovo History Museum is open year-round for paid visits and provides visitors with a guide. People with disabilities receive free admission. The museum is located in the central part of the town near a road.

The Ethnographic House is located near Oryahovo bus station and is a five-minute walk from the town centre.
