History and Geography
The medieval Kamaka Fortress is located 600 metres west of Oryahovo. It was built in the 9th century as part of the Danube fortress system of the First Bulgarian Empire, renewed between the 12th and 14th centuries, and used until the end of the 15th century.
Oryahovo is situated in a hilly landscape on the right bank of the Danube.
