In Bobovišće, the Chapel of Saint Martin displays early Romanesque stylistic features. Its altar relief is attributed to 15th-century stonemasons who were influenced by the work of Nikola Firentinac in Trogir. The chapel is located at a strategic vantage point overlooking the maritime route through the Splitska vrata and the waters between Hvar, Brač and Šolta. The house complex of Vladimir Nazor stands on the northern side of the harbour of Bobovišće and consists of three houses. The complex has commemorative significance because the poet spent part of his childhood there, and it is valued as an atmospheric example of residential architecture from the beginning of the 19th century.
Landscape and Trails
The marked Via Brattia circular hiking trail runs in the surrounding area and connects to Bobovišće. The approximately 140-kilometre circular hiking trail connects settlements on Brač and twelve cultural and historical sites; from Bobovišće, you can join the route.
Local Character
Traditional Mediterranean agriculture in Bobovišće included the cultivation of grapevines and olives.
