Milna: Hotels and Accommodation
Milna is described as a settlement in a bay that opens toward the Splitska vrata. The townscape includes three fully equipped marinas, a long waterfront and stone houses associated with vernacular architecture.
Culture
The cultural and historical ensemble of Milna is designated as a cultural heritage asset. At the northern end of the harbour, the Blaca House still stands; it served the Blaca priests as a trading and storage house.
The Church of Our Lady of the Annunciation was built in 1783 in the Baroque style. It contains a former chapel dedicated to Saint Mary, built in 1519 and now serving as a sacristy. Its stone bell tower is older than the church and was built in the 16th century.
The Church of Saint John the Baptist was built in the 14th century during the transition from the Romanesque to the Gothic period and contains Baroque reliefs by the sculptor Matko Mijić.
At the entrance to the harbour stands the Church of Saint Nicholas, dedicated to the patron saint of sailors. On Saint Nicholas Day, a festival is celebrated there that is particularly honoured by Milna's seafarers. The parish of Milna also celebrates the Feast of Our Lady of Mount Carmel as its parish feast.
The route from Milna to Osibova is marked by 14 stone Stations of the Cross chapels.
