Geographical Setting

Vukova Gorica lies on the right bank of the Kupa River and along the Zagreb–Karlovac–Rijeka road. The historic Lujzijana Road, which connects Rijeka and Karlovac, runs through the village. Culture and History

The Chapel of St. Juraj in Vukova Gorica is designated as protected cultural property in Croatia under reference Z-3090 and is listed as a viewpoint. The Church of St. Juraj is probably a medieval chapel and stands on a hill above the Kupa River. St. George's Chapel in Vukova Gorica dates back to 1688.

The KPH District Conference Building in Vukova Gorica is classified as protected cultural property. A memorial plaque on the house where the first KNOO meeting was held is listed as cultural heritage. Vukova Gorica 2 is listed in the cultural heritage inventory as a traditional farmstead. Vukova Gorica is also the birthplace of politician Ivan Šubašić. A bilingual historical information panel about Ivan Šubašić was installed in Vukova Gorica beside the historic Lujzijana Road, at his dilapidated estate.

Trails and Water

A route starting in Vukova Gorica passes through the three villages of Prilišće, continues to Ladešići, and then leads to a swimming stop at the Kupa River. Vukova Gorica is described as a summer bathing spot on the Kupa River.

A self-guided bicycle tour follows the historic Lujzijana Road along the Kupa River to Vukova Gorica.
