Cycling and Water

The “Šumama Srijema” cycle route is approximately 44 kilometres long. It leads from Podgrađe towards Apševci and from Apševci to the centre of Lipovac. The “Sveta Katarina” excursion boat offers an opportunity to explore the landscape along the Bosut in the area of Nijemci, Podgrađe, Apševci and Lipovac.

The confluence of the Spačva and the Bosut is considered a fishing area with pike, carp and perch; there is also an excursion site at the confluence maintained by a local angling club.

The Catholic filial church of Sv. Ilija Prorok, built in 1805, stands in Apševci. Apševci have belonged to the Lipovac parish since 1784. The restored Church of Sv. Ilija in Apševci represents the community’s return from displacement and its reconstruction after the war.

The “Apševački veseljaci” Cultural and Artistic Association in Apševci was founded in the 1970s. It is committed to protecting and preserving the cultural identity, heritage and traditions of the region.

Events

In 2024, the folklore event “Raspjevani Apševci, rasplesani Apševački veseljaci” took place in the centre of Apševci; more than 150 members of folklore associations participated.
